How can I set “fast charging” on a Samsung mobile phone?
You can set the “fast-charge” function, e.g. on the Samsung Galaxy A51 under “Settings > Device Care > Battery > Charging > Fast Charging”. Depending on the version of Android that is installed, the path may be somewhat different.

What is the difference between “fast charging” and “super-fast charging”?
The difference between fast charging and super-fast charging lies in the possible charging speed of your Samsung mobile phone. Both functions must be activated in the settings. If you have a Samsung that supports super-fast charging, it can be charged almost twice as quickly. Provided that you are using a fast charger with sufficient power output. Fast-charging needs Power Delivery or Quick Charge, while super-fast charging needs Power Delivery with an optimised PPS profile.

Is “fast charging” on a Samsung harmful?
No, “fast charging” is not generally harmful for your Samsung. This smartphone reduces the charging speed at the end of the charging process, even if the fast-charging function is activated. This prevents the rechargeable battery from overheating. However, if you charge your Samsung overnight, you should switch off “fast charging”.

How does my Samsung mobile phone charge more quickly?
Your Samsung mobile phone charges more quickly if you deactivate power-hungry functions such as ongoing background app refresh during charging or put your smartphone into flight mode. If your Samsung mobile phone supports fast charging, see whether the fast-charge function is activated in the settings. Use a fast charger with at least 15 watts. You can read more about this in the article Samsung charging slowly. The Samsung fast-chargingfunction
You should first know that you can already charge your Samsung more quickly with simple measures such as by reducing power consumption during charging. You can find out how to do that on our page How to charge your phone faster.
This page here is primarily about the fast-charge function on the Samsung mobile phone, which is supported by most models and can be set individually. If fast charging should work on a Samsung, you need a fast charger with at least 15 watts of power output. With the optimal charging accessories and fast charging activated, your Samsung charges up to 60% in 30 minutes.

Setting fast charging for Samsung
You can activate and deactivate fast charging on the Samsung. Depending on the Android version installed, you can set the function in a different place in the settings. For example, on the Samsung Galaxy A40 under > Device care > Battery > More Battery Settings > Fast Charging via cable. If fast charging doesn’t work on your Samsung, first check whether the fast-charge function is actually activated in the settings. If you mainly charge your Samsung overnight, you should deactivate fast charging so as not to place an unnecessary strain on the rechargeable battery.
Suitable Samsung quick chargers
If your Samsung has a Micro-USB or a USB-C connector, you can quickly charge it with the corresponding Micro-USB-to-USB-C or USB-C-to-USB-C charging cable. More important than the charging cable for the fast-charge function is the power output of the power supply unit used. This should deliver at least 15 watts to ensure the fast charging of the Samsung. Look in the manual of your Samsung for information on how many watts your rechargeable battery needs to be charged optimally.
It is crucial whether the charger provides at least this power output. A power supply unit that is too powerful doesn’t harm your Samsung – the mobile phone only draws as much power as your rechargeable battery needs.
Suitable chargers from Hama
For fast charging on Samsung mobile phones, Hama offers quick chargers with the Qualcomm Quick Charge or Power Delivery charging technology as well as combined power supply units. The two technologies can be found combined in the Hama power supply units more and more often, so that the chargers enable fast charging for all Samsung models. The suitable charging current is recognised and adapted by the respective connected device. As a result, the Samsung does not overheat during charging and the battery is protected.
Samsung super-fast charging
Samsung fast charging is not enough? The super-fast charging function enables a Samsung such as the Galaxy S21 to be charged almost twice as fast. This function also has to be activated to be used optimally: Settings > Device Care > Battery > More Battery Settings > Super Fast Charging.
The most important thing: For super-fast charging, the Samsung needs a charger with USB Power Delivery technology and at least 25 watts of power output. A suitable power supply unit for super-fast charging for the Samsung is the Fast Charger with USB-C Charging Cable, Mini Charger, PD, 25W, 1.5m, white .
Fast charging does not work
If fast charging on your Samsung no longer works, you should first check in the settings whether the fast-charge function is actually activated. If this is the case, restarting often helps. Another cause can be that you have accidentally connected an old power supply unit with insufficient charging power. This supplies too little power to charge the Samsung quickly. Fast charging on the Samsung only works with the right fast-charging accessories.
Fast wireless charging
Fast charging also works on a Samsung smartphone with an induction charger like the Hama "QI-FC15S" Wireless Charger Kit, 15 W maximum power output if your model supports inductive charging and has the fast-charge function. This makes the charging process faster than wired charging with a 10-watt power supply unit. However, if your Samsung is designed for a charging current of 25 watts, such as the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, it is much faster for you to use a wired charger that can deliver 25 watts, than inductive charging with 15 watts.
